On Saturday, the major football club announced it will apply for the government's work maintenance scheme, available by taxpayers. That decision prompted numerous reactions.
On Monday, club chief executive Peter Moore wrote a letter to fans in which he writes: “We believe we came to a wrong conclusion last week. And we're really sorry about this”.
He has said that as a result of “broad consultations and internal discussions, it is set to find alternative ways”.
Liverpool became the fifth Premier Legers club to temporarily dismiss part of the workers. Liverpool had announced that 80 percent of the salary of about 200 laid-off workers would cover the government fund and 20 percent the club. But the decision faced numerous criticisms, and Liverpool has drawn it.
Meanwhile, Manchester Unitedi has decided not to send club workers on temporary leave, it has become known Monday.
