Italy's Football Federation (FIGC) has started preparing health guidelines for the resumption of the Serie A seasonal, which has been suspended since 9 March due to the Coronavirus explosion.
FIGC has said the Federation's medical committee has held a video conference Wednesday to analyse and define a protocol for football, in case sports events are allowed to resume.
FIGC is hoping to complete the championship in order to reduce financial damage. The Federation has said it is ready to continue until September or October, if necessary.
Italy is one of the most affected countries in the region. By Wednesday, the number of victims reached 15.362, while more than 124 thousand are infected. A number of Serie A players were also infected.
The “The football world should be ready if they get the green light to gradually resume. Taking on the role football plays in Italian society, I am convinced that we can make an important contribution to the entire state of”, FIGC President Gabriele Gravina has said.
It has been said that the protocol will include which tests should be done to players who have been infected with the virus and that especially attention should be paid to the respiratory and cardiovascular systems.
