Government authorizes Health Minister to make decisions to prevent pandemic

In accordance with the Government's Labour Order has been held a corresponding meeting, the government's 24th in office, directed by incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

At the meeting, the decision under which the Ministry of Health is authorized to make decisions aimed at preventing and combating the spread of COVID-19.

The decisions will be in place of implementing the provisions of the Law on Combating and Prevention of Influencing Diseases, the prime minister's office said in the communique.

“Ministry of Health Minister, according to the recommendations of relevant professional units and in consultation with the respective municipalities, will set the time of movement or ban on the circulation of citizens and vehicles, as well as make exemptions for specific restrictions on the Government of the Republic of Kosovo No. 02/17 on the 2703.20”

The decision adopted today by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo is aimed at rationalising time in the process of making decisions, in the function of preventing and combating the spread of COVID-19 epidemic. The decision rests on the legal provisions of the Law on Combating and Prevention of Influencing Diseases, as well as on the findings of the Constitutional Court Act of the Republic of Kosovo No. K54/20”
