Such news has been disclosed through a media communique by the EU Office in Pristina, where Brussels says it will support energy efficiency in Kosovo with a total of about 10m euros.
This grant and its implementation will be managed by the World Bank.
“The EU supports energy efficiency in Kosovo at 9.4m euros, creating jobs to reduce the negative impact of the COVID-19 virus on the economy”, the report said.
The integration of this grant will begin immediately after the conclusion of the COVID-19 situation.
The 9.4m-euro grant agreement from IPA 2017 was signed yesterday by the EU and the Kosovo government, with the World Bank as a trusted manager. The implementation of the project will begin once the situation is overcome with the spread of the COVID 19 virus and will contribute to reducing its negative impact on the economy”, the communique adds.
“This grant will be used by the Kosovo Fund for Energy Efficiency as capital for financing the implementation of energy efficiency measures in municipal public infrastructure, schools, health care centres, hospitals, etc., and will create jobs in the construction sector”, notes among other things.
