The EU hands over the first share of 5m euro emergency assistance to Kosovo for the fight by Covid-19

Through a communiqué to the media, MSH has suggested that this assistance, carried in 5 trucks, includes over 1.4 million different medical protective gloves, 40,000 facial shields, 3 thousand protective glasses, 4 thousand liters of hand disinfectant, 10,000 pairs of one-use mattresses, and 50 boxes for transporting laboratory samples.
“This is where we can provide concrete support to the European Union for people in need and health professionals, those on the front line of this pandemic in the struggle to save people's lives”, Ambassador Apostolova said after delivery of equipment.
Other medical supplies will include ventilators, infusion pumps, ambulance vehicles, pulse oximeters, hospital beds, patient monitoring, defibrillators, electrocardigraphers, masks, tests, test scores, drugs and other necessary items.
In addition to this direct assistance to the health sector, the EU is also preparing about 63m euros as the medium-term ministerial assistance measure for socioeconomic grants, as well as about 100m euros in loans as macroeconomic assistance to Kosovo.
