EU leaders and the heads of EU member states missions in Belgrade and Pristina through a joint statement said they welcome the appointment of Mirosav Lajcak as EU Special Representative and called on the parties to resume the dialogue.
This appointment reportedly signals the EU's strong commitment to dialogue.
“We welcome the appointment of Miroslav Lajcak, as Special Representative of the High Representative/ European Commission Vice Chairman for Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue and other regional issues of the Western Balkans. His appointment signals the EU's strong commitment to Dialog. We call on both sides to engage with newly appointed EU Representative and resume the process without delay”, the statement said.
