As in 2004, the most expensive footballer in 2005 was Brazilian Ronaldinho, worth 50 million euros.

The most expensive goalkeeper was undoubtedly Gianluiggi Buffon, worth 35m euros, while the three most valuable defenders were Gianluca Zambrotta, Alessandro Nesta and Rio Ferdinand.
