On this day, 15 years ago Lee Boweer and fellow Kieron Dayer chose problems in the field

When we talk about the ugly one, we are immediately reminded of Lee Bower and Kyeron Dayer.

It's been exactly 15 years since the Newcastle co-workers clashed in the field, during a 3-0 domestic loss from Aston Villa.

The duo was then expelled red in what is known as one of the most unique incidents in professional football history.

Two in his autobiography has discovered that the trigger of the beating was a pass he decided not to do for his midfield partner.

“Bower was frustrated. Damn it, give me the ball, he's screaming,” wrote Dyer.

A few minutes later, he wanted me to cross for him, I thought I had better options. It was nothing personal. Bow absolutely lost his head. Hell, he screamed, never follows the ball.
