The UK in Kosovo through a writing on the official Facebook page has welcomed the government's decision in office to lift customs duties, while criticising it for setting reciprocity, saying the non-tariff barriers Serbia imposes can only be resolved in the framework of dialogue.
After the vote of no confidence in the Assembly, the United Kingdom invites the Constitution to continue to be respected, and for decisions to be made quickly to enable the government in office, or the new one, to protect citizens' lives is the main consideration. We, the United Kingdom, are close to the people of Kosovo and the region during this global crisis. We welcome the government's decision in office to lift tariffs for goods from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina”, the statement said.
On the other hand, Great Britain reportedly supports the EU-brokered dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, which should submit to comprehensive final agreements respecting territorial integrity.
“We refocus the stable support of the United Kingdom for the dialogue mediated by the European Union between Kosovo and Serbia, and we believe that differences, including non-tariff barriers, can be resolved in this framework. Dialogue should send to a comprehensive, final, legally binding agreement, respecting territorial integrity and normalising bilateral relations, which is acceptable to citizens of both countries and will provide long-term benefits for them and for the entire region”, the declaration of the Great Britain Embassy in Kosovo said.
