Because of the situation with the Coronavirus pandemic, at the end of this month, the supply is expected to be made with 50 new respirators available to patients.
Faik Hoti, an information official at the Ministry of Health, said in an interview for Online Economy, the rest are expected to come to Kosovo during May.
According to Hoti, they are also discussing with the EU to secure another 30 respiratories who would help treat patients affected by Coronavirus.
The priorities in addition to providing protective equipment remain new respirators, and in this regard we expect that this month eventually, even next month, we will provide another 50 respiratories and even from EU funds, there will be discussions to ensure another 30 respiratories who would have reinforced this line of treatment of patients with Covid”, Hoti said.
Currently in Kosovo there are 142 respirators, of them 95 are in the public sector. According to Hoti, the good news is that the private sector has offered this help.
And the private sector has 47, the total number of respirators is 142 respirators. The good news is that even the private sector has expressed readiness to help the public sector and any assets, health infrastructure, human resources in this sector can be used in case of a public sector at all times, as long as we need to treat patients affected by this”, Hoti noted.
In the Infectious Clinic to treat patients with Coronavirus, there are now two other Azithromycin and Chloroquine drugs, which, according to US President Donald Trump, have produced good results for treating patients.
For this, Hoti says that drugs are available, while whether it is necessary to use or not, infected people.
Therapeutics that are already being used or at least are having discussions about their use of global levels, two of which are also mentioned by the American president, have an Infectious Clinic available”.
Well, it's always in the professional competence of a infection to decide whether a certain shepherd should be used in patients or not. The important thing is that they have these, but they decide whether it's necessary to use them or not, because what's already known is that there's no specific medicine against Ovid-19, and there's no vaccine”.
And the Infectious Clinic says that these two drugs are being used in patients infected with Coronavirus.
According to Infectian, Valbon Krasniqi, currently has sufficient quantity and the likelihood is that these therapies will have a positive effect on patients infected with Coronavirus.
And these two drugs are being used and we have enough. The odds are that they have a positive effect”, Krasniqi said via telephone.
Meanwhile, in the fight for pandemic, the Health Ministry, Arben Vitita, had said that they are under discussion with several companies to provide two Ramdesivitri and Faviopiravir.
Hoti pointed out that these two drugs are in the stages of experimentation and, according to WTO recommendations and the European Centre for Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases, have not been approved for broad use.
Other drugs are mostly in stages of various experimentation, and depending on what other states will do, what the WTO and the European Centre for Prevention and Disease Control will recommend, so will Kosovo
They are also in the stages of experimentation, and the ministry has had contact with one of the companies that produces one, but they have recommended that at the moment this drug is not approved for a broad use, and more has been in some sort of testing”.
