- What?A man is hospitalised after drinking a bottle full of disinfectant, taking literally President Donald Trump's suggestion, that it's a possible treatment for David-19.
The director of Georgia's toxicology centre, Gaylard Lopez, said the person had acted hastily and admitted to drinking about half a chlorine-based disinfectant liter.
Lopez said the man, who did not identify, had precedents of psychiatric problems. He was kept in the psychiatric ward for some time and was later released.
The incident comes days after President Donald Trump appeared to have indirectly suggested that taking disinfectant and ultraviolet radiation is a possible treatment for the coronary.
Trump had said, among other things: “We assume that we strike a strong light - ray body or ultraviolet rays, this has not been tested and should be tested. It's like we put light inside the body or through the skin or some other way. Then there's the disinfectant, can we use it by injecting it in for cleaning?
Lopez added that this was not the only case of a disinfectant poisoning.
He said another man had been hospitalized in the last few days after drinking a mixture of mouth disinfectant, beer, and sedatives.
Cases like these had grown up in New York after Trump's comments.
