Albin Kurti six months ago: We will eliminate Serbia's presence in the north

Local authorities in Serb-inhabited northern Kosovo, introduced the northern Mitrovica and Zvecanin municipality into quarantine, following reports of over 20 affected by Coronavirus in these two cities.

According to local authorities' measures, no one can leave these two municipalities except for food and medicine supply movements. The ban on the movement went into effect at 1: 00 a.m. on Saturday and will continue until 5:00 on Monday. Such a move has been imposed in Serbia.

These developments also sparked reactions in Pristina by both President Thaci and political party leaders. But yesterday, no word was uttered by the chief officer in the army, Albin Kurti.

Instead, Interior Affairs Ministry Minister Jalal Svechla and Health Minister Arben Vitita was declared to the media.

Vetevendosje Movement Chairman Albin Kurti earlier half a year had declared that his future government would eliminate Serbia's presence by co-operating with local Serbs, who, according to him, also suffer from Serbia's homogenia in that region of Kosovo.

”In the majority Serb municipalities that are south of Ibri, the institutions will also be. There is not much problem with the presence of Kosovo institutions, but is the presence of Serbia. We believe that it should be with those forces of Serbia to deal with our institutions, co-operating with local Serbs. They will co-operate with local Serbs against Serbia's presence. We must go north of Kosovo, go as service. Bajram Rexhepi has been one of the leaders, and no one else as far as I know in that region. We should be in the government to serve every Kosovo resident, whether Serb or Albanian. The North and South Trepca must unite, and I think that with the Trepca union, Mitrovica will join. Investment should be made in Trepca. In Trepca has given, not Pristina investment, our government, then, but Serbia. That shouldn't happen again.
