Japan has not given up holding out the Olympics, despite the Panemia of COVID-19 that has erupted worldwide.
The Tokyo Olympics are scheduled to be held from July 24th to August 9th.
However, athletes are concerned that it is too dangerous to go to Japan and impossible to train properly. Many other sporting events, some planned well before the beginning of June, have been cancelled or postponed.
Meanwhile, the International Olympic Committee said it held “construction talks” with athletes' representatives for the virus crisis. President Thomas Bach insisted that the “s all realized that we still have more than four months to spend” until Tokyo 2020.
However, many athletes reacted on Twitter, saying the Olympics must be cancelled.
