Weeks of consultations, Thaci is expected to invite political leaders to meeting

Kosovo's president this week is expected to invite all political party leaders to the meeting for consultations to see the possibility of creating the new government. After the official announcement of the motion from Parliament arrived Friday in his office, Thaci has failed to invite leaders to the meeting for the day.

Kosovo's contacted political parties on whether to respond positively to President Thaci's invitation have yet to have an official stance on the issue.

The deputy chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lutfi Haziri, said over the phone for Kosova Preis that it is still unknown whether this party will go to the meeting with President Thaci while there is no official invitation.

It's the president's problem. We haven't called the meeting yet. Without getting the invitation, we don't talk. In contrast to this party, Haxhi Shala from the Social Democrat Initiative told Kosovo Press that once she receives an invitation from the president, they will go as a party for consultations regarding the future government.

In a written response to Kosova Prees, media spokesman for the Democratic Party of Kosovo Avni Bytyci says that without receiving the invitation from the president, they cannot be declared whether to respond positively or not.

KosovoPress has also tried to get an answer from Alliance for the Future of Kosovo Parliamentary Group chief Daut Haradinaj, but that has been impossible.

The incumbent Prime Minister, Albin Kurti through a Facebook post, has said «that President Thaci should think about the election date, before seeking candidate name from the Vetevendosje Movement.

President Thaci, after the collapse of the Kosovo government, had declared that he would soon invite leaders of all political parties to consult to see the possibility of creating the new government. And for that, he had said he would do so Monday, adding that he would respect the Constitution and Kosovo laws.
