The epidemiologist specialising at the Institute of Public Health in northern Mitrovica, Aleksandar Antonijevic, says the situation in northern Kosovo is calm at the moment and nobody has Coronavirus.
“We are in constant contact with epidemiologists from all over Serbia and around, and we've taken the situation seriously, which is also our recommendation for citizens because it's the only way to combat the” epidemic, he told” Radio Mitrovica Sever” (Radio of North Mitrovica) and added that the crisis management team is prepared to respond fully if the positive cases for “Cavid 19”.
He believes that “the declaration of an pandemic by the World Health Organization is a sufficient cautionary alert”.
The epidemiologist further stresses that they are following guidelines from Serbia's Institute of Public Health “Militan Jovanovic Batut” and have excellent co-operation with the authorised reference institution “Torlak”, which conducts the analysis of samples sent for analysis.
So far, according to him, about 20 patients suspected of the virus have been tested, but none of them has been positive.
