33-year-old Maxim Gareyev, a British graduate, admitted the 24-year-old murder of Ekaterina Semochkina in Moscow.
Gareyev told investigators that she attacked Semochkina after she offended his wealth, character and sexual skills after meeting for free sex.
Semochkina's body was discovered naked in a suitcase in her apartment, with her throat slit. The victim's mother, Dr. Olga Semochkina, said at the Moscow court that she had gone to check when her daughter didn't answer the phone.
I found my daughter locked in a suitcase. The big red suitcase was in the middle of the room... and I started screaming”, she said.
Ekaterina's father, Dr Stanislav Semochkin, also a urologist, hurried to rescue him, but soon realized that he was dead.
Gareyev said he killed him because he made fun of him. Ekaterina had just graduated from medicine and was a beauty blogger in the Instagram where she had 85,000 followers.
She also worked as a prostitute for about 150 pounds an hour to supplement her income. Gareyev said she mocked him because he wasn't as rich as the other men she went with, and that he didn't enjoy it in bed.
He said on the Russian inquiry commission that “after she fucked me. I lost control, took the knife in the kitchen, and I hit”
The victim's parents, who shared in Gareyev's sentence, denied that she was a prostitute.
