It has been postponed for an indefinite term to race the first season of the Kosovo Ski Federation (FSK).
The first local contest, the Memorial Cup “KSF.
And if there is still a shortage of snow in this ski center and others, KSF has plan B.
In the federation, local races can be held in another country that meets the conditions for hosting the races. But club officials think it's hard to organise abroad because of poor financial conditions.
However, KSF chairman Milaim Kelmendi hopes that the upcoming competitions will be held the way they were envisioned in this season's calendar.
We've been going through international activities for a month, but we haven't started with local activities yet. We were scheduled to start on February 28th, but in the absence of snow, race has been postponed for an indefinite term. We have also discussed the possibility that Kosovo's contests will be held abroad”, Kelmendi told the newspaper.
But, coach of the most successful ski club ? Alpi?, Agim Pupovci, has stressed that it would be a problem for clubs to take part in competitions abroad with all skiers.
The “factor in finance is too difficult for clubs. In other countries too, competitions are canceled, and there are seasons that cannot be fulfilled. Snow has and I think we will manage to hold the competitions even in Kosovo”, Pupovci, who is also Kosovo's principal, has said.
Actually, clubs stay weak.
