Kosovo sport willing to face Coronavirus

Kosovo's Olympic Committee and the Kosovo Football Federation have said that so far, they have not been contacted by the high state institutions around the choreography, even though Covid-19 is already near Kosovo's borders. In these organisations, they are willing to respond positively to the eventual demand of state institutions to close the doors of sports facilities for viewers or, at the worst, the suspension of sporting activities.

Coronervirus has “forward” many sports contests worldwide, where they are either suspended or held without audience presence with the possibility of interruption. Recently in Albania, two cases that resulted in the Coronavirus were confirmed, which prompted the Albanian Government to demand suspension of sporting activities by April 3rd.

Coronavirus has also been confirmed in Macedonia and Serbia. Kosovo officially still remains untouched by Coddy-19, even though the virus is already near its borders. While today in QKUK, two girls in Pristina have sought help, who are suspected to have been affected by coronarys. Tests for them are expected to appear during the day. Meanwhile, the government and KKUK are getting ready for every opportunity to face the challenge called “Corona”.

So far, however, state institutions have not yet contacted sports organisations in the country, whose sports organisations around themselves accumulate large masses of people.

In the Kosovo Football Federation (FFK), the country's most popular sport has been told that they are willing to face the eventual challenge, though so far this organisation has not been contacted by top state institutions.

“We thought we could even face suspension, delay of the championship, or close the doors for viewers, respectively. We hope it doesn't come so far, but if this is required of us to prevent the spread of the virus, of course we will do it like all other states' federations are doing it, Salihu said.

In contrast, the country's largest sports institution, the Kosovo Olympic Committee (KOK), which under its umbrella has all sports federations, has said it is carefully following the situation around the choreography.

“The KOK is carefully following recent developments in the country and Rajon in terms of the Corona virus. Until now, the KOK has not received any letters from the Ministry of Sports, Health or Education to take any precautions for sporting events or even athletes themselves. Any KOK action will also take place in co-ordination with the government and relevant institutions”, KOK spokesman Kufim Krasniqi told Gazeta Express.

Coronervirus Coved-19 has so far affected over 110 thousand people worldwide, and about 3300 have died.
