Hoti: Disturbing if Contour Globalʹ withdrew for political reasons

First Deputy Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti sees the fact that the Contour Global Company has interrupted plans for the construction of the “thermal power plant, New Kosovo”. The man at the Kosovo Clan Info Magazine has said that if the withdrawal of this investor... behind which the American government has stayed... from Kosovo has happened for political reasons, then this should [...]
The man at the Kosovo Clan Info Magazine has said that if the withdrawal of this investor, which the American government has stood behind, for political reasons, it should disturb the Government of Kosovo.
It's disturbing. If one of the reasons for withdrawal from this project is also for political reasons, then it is disturbing for the Government of Kosovo. Anyone who notices it otherwise makes a major political mistake, if it relating to the extent that it makes it insignificant to withdraw this investor from Kosovo. Behind this investor was the United States Government, and it should be clear to each politician in Kosovo”.
The project has had and is still full of unknowns such as what the cost of electricity supply will be, but above all, we have always been initiated by the principle of the Kosovo state's need for stable electricity supply”.
Hoti has raised concerns that if new power plants are not built in the coming years, then Kosovo will face the problem of stable electricity supply.
If new thermal power plants are not built in the coming years, we have no stable power supply. This is clear and based on this, several governments took turns dealing with this project because this project is not new”.
The “has started since 2006-2007, until the idea of building a 2,000-megawatt thermal power plant dates back to 1987. It has been reduced and changed over the years and we have come to the last version of which a paraconstra was signed with the previous government”.
We as the new government established the inter-ministerial commission made up of five ministers to manage this project and we expected this commission to bring information to the government what phase this project is at and what we should do as governments to move this project forward. We've taken their appeal with real concern, and once we get through this situation we're going into as a society we have to urgently address the issue of the stable power supply”.
