FAZ: Conflict Between EU and America brought down Kurti Government

The prestigious German newspaper “Frankfurter Allgemaine Zeitung” has reported the collapse of Kurti Government, following a vote of confidence initiated by LDK and supported by opposition parties.

The newspaper reports that there was officially controversy over the policy of overcoming the crisis with the Coronavirus. “Behind the scenes, there was a conflict between the EU and America”, the paper writes.

According to FAZ, Washington is making efforts to convince Pristina to accept an agreement that Brussels opposes.

The “The tone between the White House and the Kosovo Government had increased recently. Donald Trump Junior threatened that Americans could close Camp Bondsteel, their military base in Kosovo. This is an extremely serious threat, as the sense of security of Kosovo Albanians is based mainly on the American military presence in their country”, writes FAZ.

Germany and France tried to prevent the vote of no confidence, but could not prevail.
