EU helps Kosovo with 5m euros against corruption

The signing ceremony has been broadcast live on Facebook via the EU's page in Kosovo, through a virtual meeting platform.
Ambassador Apostolova said the EU remains committed to helping Kosovo fight the spread of pandemic with Coronavirus, as a result of which 94 cases have been confirmed by last night.
“We today sign contracts with UNOPS to bring supply equipment worth fivem euros to Kosovo. This includes 30 respirators/venators, 150 infusion pumps, 5 auto ambulances, and 400 complete new hospital beds... As an additional part of emergency assistance, the EU is working on securing up to 60m euros for economic recovery after the coronary pandemic is complete. The EU stands next to the people of Kosovo. We are together in all of this and together we will be more powerful”, Apostolova said.
Kosovo's incumbent Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, has welcomed EU assistance for Kosovo in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, saying he hopes the country will soon overcome the created situation.

We are grateful for this help in fighting the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Coronavius knows no bounds... With the help of the EU, we will have more self-confidence in this war and we are safe and will get out of the situation as soon as possible and with less consequences and loss”, Kurti said.
While Brendan Keirmann, chief of the UNOPS Office in Pristina, has expressed his support for the health sector in Kosovo to cope with the situation created as a result of the coronary.
The contract will include supply of specialized laboratory equipment and equipment for protection from COVID-19 and its treatment to the needs of the University Clinical Centre in Pristina. Equipment also includes drugs, syringe injections, pulse oxygen on the finger, and pulse oximeters, patient monitors, defibrillators, electroccardographers.
