Jurgen Klopp has looked at the bright side of Liverpool's first defeat in 44 matches at Premierliga and hopes that now, when his team is no longer under pressure to close the season as invincible, it will be able to play free football.
Liverpool visited the Vicarage Road Stadium on Saturday after winning 18 straight matches in the league, only one victory away from the new record, while it was free of losses in 44 consecutive matches.
But Watford made a wonderful presentation to shock the red, with Ismaila Sarr marking two goals and an assistant to Troy Deeney.
This loss is unlikely to affect Liverpool's efforts to win the title in the league this season, as Klopp's team continues to lead by 22 points, but means it will not be able to become the second team to end the Premierliga season without any losses.
However, Clopp feels that this scenario can, in fact, yield to Liverpool.
We'd lose a dokurdo fight. We did not expect it, but it was clear that it would happen”, Klopp said.
And I see it as positive that we're getting closer to these records. Now we can play soccer freely again and we don't have to try to achieve the record. Now we'll just try to win the matches, and we'll do that”, he added.
