American Oda reacts sharply to tax, reminds Kurti of US investments in Kosovo

Through a media communique, it has been said that the American Economic Oda in Kosovo expresses its concern over the disk of recent days about the fee the Republic of Kosovo has imposed on two Western Balkan states.

The American Oda recalls the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as other political and social rulers that the United States has played and continues to play a key role in the freedom, independence and strengthening of the state of Kosovo through continued investments for strengthening the economy, justice, democratic governance and security protection.

A number of American companies actively contribute to the country's economic development in sectors such as construction and real estate, energy, health, and information technology. On the other hand, the United States Government offers Kosovo direct support through its International Development Agency (USAID), as well as the Miterian Challenge Foundation (MCC), while producers from Kosovo have the opportunity to export over 3,500 products without customs to the United States through the General Preference System (GSP).

The United States of America is the biggest contributor to KFOR forces, ensuring a safe environment and freedom for the citizens of Kosovo, which therefore guarantees stability and security for foreign investors. On the other hand, Croatia's National Guard continues to provide support to the Kosovo Security Force under the long-term partnership, helping Kosovo contribute to regional security and co-operation”, it says further.

All in the end, the American Economic Oda reiterates its stance on supporting agreements signed between Kosovo authorities and Serbia on establishing airlines, railways, and on road infrastructure investments, with the mediation of the United States of America, expressing strong confidence that the removal of the fee paves the way for a final peace agreement that would result in mutual recognition, trade without barriers and empowerment of economic ties, which on the other hand would improve perception of the two states in the eyes of American and other foreign investors.
