Authorities in South Korea decided on Sunday to shut down churches because of the spread of the coronary. In the last 24 hours, 586 new cases were recorded in this country, bringing the total number of infected persons to 3736.
This decision came just a day after the daily record of 813 people infected for one day, presenting the largest spread outside China. The number of dead persons has already gone to 18, writes “Reuters”, Report Express broadcast.
I heard there would be no Mass, but I just came to see after living nearby, all the roads are empty”, said a citizen who was close to a church.
It is the wise decision to keep me online, because the virus would easily spread during gatherings, and churches are no exception”, he added.
Authorities have warned critical times in the fight against Coronavirus, asking people not to participate in religious gatherings and political events and stay at home over the weekend.
For the first time in its 236-year history, the South Korean Catholic Church decided not to organize Mass in more than 1700 locations.
