Thaci from Brussels: EU would liberalise our visas in 2016, but political problems happened

The country's president, Hashim Thaci, in an exclusive interview from Brussels, has said the EU was willing to liberalise visas in 2016, but due to the political turmoil that was at the time, had not occurred. We have shown and proved that we have made progress, of course there has been time when [...]
“We have shown and proved that we have made progress, of course there have been times when we were delayed with our mistakes, the European future, in particular at the end of 2015 and early 2016, when the EU was willing to make visa liberalisation, but because of political turmoil we sent the worst possible message to our partners in the EU, even in the United States”, Thaci has said in an interview for RTK.
In addition, he added, that the meeting between new EU leaders and those of the Western Balkans is very good and in hopes that this meeting will present a vision for the future of Western Balkan countries.
The “is the first meeting of new EU leaders to organise with Western Balkan leaders. I think it's an increased focus and attention of the EU with new leaders. I hope this meeting or business dinner with leaders of the Western Balkans will not only remain the exchange of ideas as it has happened in the past, but a vision for the future of all Western Balkan states will be presented, in particular, to open concrete prospects for northern Macedonia, Albania, as well as for Kosovo the visa liberalisation process”.
According to him, if there are no proposals at this meeting, then cultivating the status quo will be dangerous for Balkan countries.
“Otherwise, if there is no such proposal, it will only be a cultivation of this dangerous status for the countries of the Western Balkans and a dry commitment because Kosovo has really had and has reason to be very disappointed and betrayed by the EU by not making the decision to liberalise visas because Kosovo has implemented all democratic standards for visa liberalisation to take place. So, EU unity has affected Kosovo for bad”.
Kosovo's president demands that concrete action from now on, not beautiful words.
We need to listen, see what they will present, not just beautiful words, but concrete action is required. I think that today's meeting of Western Balkan leaders with the new leaders of the European Union is a very good opportunity, and it is an opportunity of a more solid and unified preparation for the Zagreb Summit, in order to open up a concrete perspective for all the countries of the Western Balkans that have been left behind and that the vision of all states is to be part of the European family, but that the EU's delay is impacting evil in the entire Western Balkans, in particular, this vacuum, are exploiting Western ideology not to infiltrate Euro-Atlantic values. We here in Brussels come from the Security Conference in Munich. Once again, there was a very important role in peace, security, stability but for the economic development of the United States, but our aim in the presentation I had in Munich was to have a much better co-ordination between the EU and the United States”.
The Western “Bota wants political stability, institutional life functions and continued democratic reforms. So my goal and my appeal to the entire political spectrum, position and opposition is to have a common agenda of state and civic interest. Together, we can achieve the targets. On the other hand, we cannot seek economic assistance without having a stable and reliable partnership with the US and the EU. In particular, the risk continues that if there is no serious and very responsible commitment, then Kosovo is at risk of membership again in Interpol or U. NCO and lose opportunities to liberalise visas this year”.
