MPs, journalists, representatives of civil society organisations and university professors participate in these discussions. The first meeting of influential women of Serbia and Kosovo was held in January 2012 in Budva, therefore this initiative was called Budva ProcessTransmitting Indexline
Later, name was changed to “Slate nas”After the same name film, which was made to awareness the general public about these meetings and their results.
These meetings carry two powerful messages. First, women in Serbia and Kosovo do not agree to be treated only as victims, but as active participants, interested and capable in the peace-building and reconciliation process. The crimes committed against women and children in war, as well as the serious social and economic consequences of fighting women, are often used in talks as arguments against the opposite side, while the same actors continue to marginalise and exclude them after the conflict has ceased.
Meetings under the initiative testify not only to the importance of women's involvement but also to the extent to which direct contacts and communication contribute to reducing ethnic distance and greater understanding.
