Serbian football player from Kosovo, who has decided to play for the Kosovo National, Ilija Ivik, has caused anger in Serbia, which does not even recognise Kosovo's national team as a conform of its independence, though our country is a member of U n EFA and FIFA reports Express.
Media in Belgrade have found the 17-year-old decision to protect Kosovo's colors scandalous.
“17-year-old Ilija Ivich, who plays at Pristina's Flamurtar where days ago he signed professional contracts with this team, has received an invitation to join Kosovo in the U19 age group. Ivric has accepted the invitation so he will become the first Serbian football player to agree to play for the newest team in Europe”, the Serbian portal has written, Informer.rs.
This paper has written that Ivric had initially rejected the first invitation because of his commitments with his debacle club, but the director of Flamurtar, Arbnor Morina, was quoted as warning of his commitment to Kosovo's national team since the next gathering.
