Reka-admandor Italian: We're locked up on a Schengen island.

European Integration Minister Blerim Reka hosted Italy's Ambassador to Kosovo, Nicolaa Orlando, at a meeting, with whom he talked about Kosovo's EU integration process.

Initially, Minister Reka expressed condolences to Ambassador Orleans for the recent victims from Corona virus in Italy and expressed moral support for these difficult days through which Italy is going through this disease.

Furthermore, Kosovo's EU integration process was discussed at the meeting. As Minister Reka recommended, it is unintelligible that Kosovo's citizens remain closed as on a Schengen island, without having the opportunity to circulate freely and without visa regimes in Europe.

Also, Minister Reka demanded that Kosovo's voice be heard even in the five states that have not recognised Kosovo because, as he said, it is understandable that a multi-aircraft organisation like the EU is making uniform decisions.

This issue has been raised especially for the reason that it harms not only the integration process, but also in general the process of other international recognitions of Kosovo”, said a media communique.

Minister Reka called for Italy's support and support in the overall integration process, including the issue of preparing for Kosovo's application for candidate status for membership in the European Union.

Ambassador Orlando announced Minister Reka's broad measures already taken in Italy to prevent the spread of corruption, including full control and identification of several potentially affected areas and individuals, suspension of public gatherings and strengthening medical border monitoring at crossing points.

Ambassador Orlando confirmed Italy's support for Kosovo's European integration aspirations. He reaffirmed the importance of visa liberalisation for its citizens and Italy's partnership for Kosovo's further progress in the European Reform Agency.
