Prime Minister Kurti: Still don't know what to think about airline deal with Serbia

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has commented on the Belgrade-Pristina airline creation agreement, and has indicated when the tax will be lifted so that the way to put reciprocity with Serbia can be opened. In an interview with Voice of America, Kurti has said that putting reciprocity passed as Resolution in the Kosovo Assembly in 2011.
“contains a resolution of the Republic of Kosovo's Parliament for full political, economic and trade reciprocity with Serbia, dated December 7, 2011, and we want to have this reciprocity as a normal principle of good neighbourly and bilateral relations, and we want in this case to replace the 100 per cent” fee, he said.
It has two aspects; political and economic aspects. The political aspect corresponds more to cause and trigger. The cause was Serbia's aggressive campaign in the international arena against Kosovo, meanwhile the trigger was Kosovo's non-membership in INTERPOL, even many international factors stressed that Serbia should cease the campaign against Kosovo recognitions. Meanwhile, it's also the economic aspect with which the fee was decided quickly, and it's probably about a lack of profit for local producers, so that today, economically from the 100 per cent fee to Serbia, some countries in the region have mostly benefited, so I want to hold a meeting with the community of productive businessmen in Kosovo and discuss the economic aspect of this tax, not just the political area<1>
It shows whether it will first remove the tax, or wait when reciprocity is fully operational.
So we've declared in the election campaign because we've thought and believed, and we with those statements and attitudes have won, and of course, we have to now stand up to citizens for their support. We want to replace the fee a hundred percent, so we don't have a situation in which we don't have the fee or reciprocity”, says Prime Minister Kurti.
We would like to have a lot of office and doors here as soon as possible, but today I have barely managed to complete the third day's work staff visit to the prime minister's building, and this week I had a solemn ceremonial meeting, and we have the draft bill on the 2020 budget, the governing programme, the government's work plan, and we have a review of the decision following the resignation of the former prime minister in July last year. Of course that's one of our priorities, but, you know, we're not really in government right now and we're going to need some time, we're gonna try faster, but not everything depends on us now”
He also adds that talks with Serbia have not been stopped, although it has been reported that Serbia does not sit on the table with Kosovo because of the tax, and that the two states have met regularly on international tables and conferences.
On the other hand, Kurti shows how he sees the agreement to establish the Pristina-Belgrade airline.
“We have read that expression of interest, which has been published, and of course we will treat it as the government of the Republic of Kosovo and with relevant authorities because this is where the Civil Aviation Agency in Kosovo, the Pristina International Airport, enters, KFOR, etc., and after an analysis we will do this we will certainly see how we can best move ahead of”, he says.
But what's important for the Republic of Kosovo is that everything is done transparently, democraticly. with a government like ours that is responsible and will take responsibility”
