Putting the red carpet on more than 1,500 square feet [900 sq m] required 900 hours of work and an 18 - person team. Part of the carpet will be recycled, and a portion will be donated to a charity organisation, Kosovo Press broadcast.
In the large hall of the Dolby Theatre, about six miles [6 km] of electric cables and about two miles [2 km] of light cloths were set up for the Gala reception after the Oscars.
Recent preparations are under way in Los Angeles before the ceremony starts at 20.00 local time.
