Kosovo Parliament Speaker Vjosa Osmani has reacted after today's letter he received from Prime Minister Albin Kurti, where she says NATO has made secret agreements with President Hashim Thaci.
Osmani said she has forwarded this letter to MPs.
It suggests that respecting the Kosovo Constitution is a duty for all, as is the preservation and cultivation of partnerships with our strategic partners.
Osmani said he met with KFOR commander, and that he has praised their and NATO's contributions to 20 years of its commitment.
Meanwhile, journalists today have asked Prime Minister Albin Kurti about this literature at the time it was Isa Mustafa prime minister, but he has recommended that Mustafa be asked himself.
Periscop has tried to get an answer from some LDK officials, but everyone has been calm.
Here is full status:
Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Albin Kurti, through a letter, has brought to the attention of the Parliament a letter exchange of April 19th 2013 between former Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci with former NATO Secretary Andres Fogh Rasmussen.
Since in his letter, the country's prime minister underlines the importance of informing all the deputies of the Assembly about these documents, and none of them were named as classified according to law in power, I have forwarded the full letter of Prime Minister Kurti, the 2013 exchange of letters between then Prime Minister. Thaci and NATO Secretary General Mr. Rassmusen, as well as the legal opinion of the Prime Minister's Office on this exchange of letters.
Respecting the Kosovo Constitution is a duty for all, as is the preservation and cultivation of partnerships with our strategic partners. At today's meeting with KFOR commander, I have praised the contribution of this force and NATO in 20 years of its commitment to a secure Kosovo and have assured that we are committed to deep co-operation. Kosovo membership in NATO is our state interest. The demands that each institution in Kosovo honour the Constitution and constitutional procedures should not be misinterpreted as an attack or an objection to NATO, but rather, as an advance of democracy and transparency and respect of law and constitution in the country.
