O V L-KLA: Over 2,000 people have left the pension beneficiaries list

The chairman of the KLA War Veterans' Organisation, Hysni Gucati, says of KosovoPress, that the list of KLA veterans must be cleaned up and such a process has already started, as more than 2,000 people have been removed from this list based on the data of this organisation.

According to him, leaving and cleaning the list is being done quietly so that reactions and protests will not arise.

He even says that the Peja Court has sentenced over 40 people after proven unlawfully receiving pensions.

“Based on what has been taken into the field, it's real we know that over 2100, we know that figure, but until the director tells me they haven't left now if they want to keep their secret because they don't want to shake up the opinion and not get veterans on the street. It's real that no veterans have filed complaints. I know they're gone. It's the case in Pec that they've returned and tools. They've been convicted of turning the tools. Over 40 people are in Pec who have been convicted is real under investigation there are over 7 thousand, and there are more than 40 left and sentenced to prison sentences of more than 6 months to 1 year. Xhaferi says they are pending court decisions that are under way through different Kosovo territories.

Of course it's not that we still as the War Witnesses' and Invalids' Family Department have not received any registers of veterans' pension beneficiaries who have left the payment list. Their number is constant during 2019 by about 38,000, with the same thing we went on in January, I believe that even in February there will be no substantial change in a very small symbolic number so it has nothing to do with reality that information that has left over 2 thousand veterans based on a procedure doesn't know what. You are witnesses of the time that there are court processes being conducted in the respective judicial institutions, we are awaiting their decisions, as we make the merit decisions we will make the legal action”, Xhaferi said.

He even denies they have left the pension list even beneficiaries from Albania, until he says that over 2700 Albanian residents enjoy the pension.

Based on statistics for 2019 at the War Witnesses' Family and Invaleds Department in February were 38217 pension beneficiaries as veterans in March, March 38094, April 38031, May 38053, June 38052, July 38074, August 38103, September 38120, October 381 November 3805, 3803, December 38101.

Kosova Prees has tried to get an answer from the Prosecutor's Office about the cases that are being dealt with under “The Bureau of Run Veterans”, but the latter have not responded.
