Every year around the world, 15 million people die before the age of 70 from these chronic diseases involving them, cardiovascular, tumors, diabetes, and overweights. Of course our country doesn't make any difference from that trend.
According to BB figures on 93% Albanians are endangered by these diseases, this is panorama throughout the region. Serbia 94.6 %, Macedonia 95.3%, Bosnia and Herzegovina 94.5%, while we in Greece affect 86.2% of the population.
Chronic and non-transmitting diseases have become a growing concern in all countries, regardless of income levels. The main problem is malnutrition with both sides, urine, and overweight. Chronic and non-transmitting diseases are projected to increase by 2030, despite changes in lifestyle, aging population, and increasing urbanization.
The World Bank suggests series of interventions such as mandatory labels of processed foods; consumer education; solid fiscal policies, such as taxing unhealthy foods with more playgrounds in schools and residential areas. /tch
