Besian Mustafa makes the decision: Hunting season closed

Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development Minister Besian Mustafa has made a decision to close the hunting season for the period 2019 - 2020.

The hunting season for all kinds of wild animals on the entire territory of the Republic of Kosovo will close on 18 February of this year.

The closure of the hunting season is made at the request of the UKPZR Forestry Department, which has estimated that there is a reduction of wildlife, all of this as a result of illegal hunting, degradation of natural habitats, and especially forests, unvolveable climate conditions, and because of the inefficient management of wildlife.

This decision is obliged to implement the Kosovo Forest Agency, the Federation of Kosovo Hunters, the country's justice managers, as well as municipal directorates for Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development.

Otherwise, the period of periphery hunt «2019-2020 was opened on October 13th, 2019, and the organisation of hunting during this period was done by local law managers under the supervision of the MBPZHR and municipalities.
