US Ambassador Philip Costnett has positively assessed the Court of Appeals' decision to sequencing about 1m euros of illegal property.
Through a post in his Twitter account that the Court's decision to seize illegal property is a major step of justice, and such commitment should be made by all institutions in Kosovo.
Kosovo's “Justice has taken a major step with the Court's decision to seize close to one million euros through money laundering. A clear message that no one should enjoy illegal wealth. Citizens deserve to see the same commitment to justice by all Kosovo institutions in all cases”, Costett wrote.
The Court of Appeals has announced that money laundering indictees have been tested to prison sentences, and assets worth about 1m euros have been confiscated.
Through a communiqué to the media, Apel has suggested that he has confirmed the prison sentences for two years to the accused, F.S. and M.S.
“They have also been tested the supplementary sentence pronounced by the Constitutional Court in Pristina for the seizure of property/things benefited from the commission of the criminal act in the amount of 946,884 euros”, said in communiqué..
