Speaking on February 25th, Pompeii said that if the ceasefire results in success, US President Donald Trump may be able to sign a peace agreement with the Taliban “m or about February 29th” in order to reach the end of the longest war in the United States, broadcast the REL.
Earlier this month, the two sides announced a <x0-volume of violence<x1 weeklong> that went into effect on February 22nd.
Talks between an American envoy and the Taliban have been held since 2018 in Qatar.
But reaching an agreement has repeatedly faced obstacles, due to Taliban attacks on Afghan and foreign forces in Afghanistan.
The United States has more than 12,000 troops in Afghanistan.
