Reference to official information under the Kosovo Police (PK), the number of officials with the most serious health problems is around 120 police officials, including uniformed and civilian personnel, which may range, classified as particular health cases, due to the serious nature of the disease.
Kosovo police, through a communique, say that through the management of health services near the KB, they treat these cases with priority and support to particular health cases is provided based on standard Operating procedures.
“Referenced medical treatment and health results, recommendations are released for various medical and psychological requests, to assign employees to a more easy job, part-time work, release from physical strains and professional equipment, definition of work skills, rest due to injury or illness, work only in a change, psychological sessions, medical and psychological examinations, etc. The number of police officials released from the official weapon because of the health problems of psychological nature is a total of 20 officials, from this number (4) officials found themselves on a classed medical vacation as a special health case. Under the Police's medical examinations and psychological testing are only kept for the Specialised PC Units (have conducted 529 psychological tests), while other units have no periodic examinations, but in case of individual requirements, according to indicators and recommendations from their superiors are conducted. Medical examinations are also conducted in the PC - authorized clinic, where the examination of the Specialized Units has not even been recorded in a case of psychiatric failure. Although psychological testings for police officials are not conducted in current KP procedures, psychologists at the DPS Health Services Directorate have come to a total of (155) psychological sessions for 68 officials during 2019. Based on medical criteria and standards for periodic medical testing for the Kosovo Police Specialisation Units (NJSO), medical checks have been conducted on specialised police officials, where 15 police officials have not met the criteria for being operational in the Special Operations Unit. It is noteworthy that all these police officials (15), are capable of work, to carry out police duties and authorisations in various police units, but the same do not meet the criteria to be operational/opanational in the Special Operational Unit, while in office and position the wind may also be part of the Special Operational Unit”, the communique says.
Police say that based on official results, it is estimated that all 15 police officials are capable of working and carrying out duties according to police procedures and authorisations in various police units and at NJSO, ruled out meeting the criteria to be operational in the NJSO, which means they do not engage in dangerous operations.
