The VW charge robot will have the task of offering full autonomous charge of electric cars in limited parking spaces and underground garages, writes Autoblog.

The robot works through the app or through Car-to-X communication and will be directed toward the vehicle independently. The whole process takes place fully without human intervention, it transmits Telegrafi.

To charge numerous vehicles at the same time, the robot will link a mobile power storage unit with the vehicle, repeating this procedure several times. When the charge is complete, it will independently collect the mobile power storage unit and lead it back to the central charge station.

The VW did not say when these robots will be available and ready to charge the vehicle, but the company claims this will happen soon.
