A kind of compromise: Russia, in the international arena, will not be able to use its name, flag and anthem for two years at the Tokyo 2021 Summer Olympics, the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and the World Championships of all disciplines involved. This is what Lausanne's Cas decided, called on to question the Russian complaint against the four-year qualification imposed in December 2019 by Wade, the World Anti-Doping Agency, for lack of compliance with his rules.

Athletes from Moscow and national teams will still be able to take part in all events even in the Qatar 2022 World Cup, but provided they demonstrate they have no involvement in doping events and yet without national colors. The disqualification will be completed on 16 December 2022. The name Russia can still appear in uniforms, as long as it is no bigger than “Neutral athletes” or “Ekipi Neutral”, as defined by Tas's decision.

Russia is also forbidden to apply to organise major international events as long as it is disfellowshipped. And the big events that were to be held in Russia should change the country, “except if it is impossible to do so.” The decision also allows the presence of Vladimir Putin and other members of the Russian government in key events in which Russia is banned, as long as the heads of state and government of host countries invite them.
