Pandemia has hit the economy in Kosovo, but it has not affected Kosovars to give up life of luxury.
In March 2020, as did all states of the world, Kosovo moved to the pandemic level. Since then restrictive measures have been applied to the movement of citizens aimed at preventing the rapid spread of the virus. This restriction of movement did not affect many citizens in Kosovo from buying cars, writes news.net.
Data sent by Kosovo Customs on News.net shows that from January 1st 2020 to December 20th in Kosovo cars have been imported worth 59,225, 415 euros. Of them, cars named old by customs have been imported in value of 50,420,191.22 euros. The same route in 2019, when there was no pandemic, old cars worth 56,380,16 euros were imported.
New cars in 2020 have been imported in value of 8,805,224.92 euros, until in 2019 that figure was 11,282,230,36 euros.
July, August, story and October were the months when cars were imported mostly in 2020.
Cars Coming From Germany
By December 20th of 2020, 20228 cars have been imported from Germany, then from France 1535 pieces, China 803, Czechia 773, Spain 420, Britain 353, Japan 349, Romania 250, US, 177, from Italy 164 in pieces.
If there were cars imported from Turkey, Sweden, Korea and China in 2019 in 2020, there was no import from these countries.
How old is the imported cars?
The oldest imported car in Kosovo in the Pandemic year has been 35 years old. Only one was bought. In 2020, exactly 739 pieces of cars were imported from age zero years, and 2467 were one year old. Mostly, they've been imported by ten years old, years of what is also their customs limit. The amount of 4582 has been imported in this age. Over this age, over ten years old cars have been imported 95 pieces.
How much did the state win from the import cars?
At the moment of importing any goods, then depending on the procedures the import company requires, and it becomes their distribution. The goods enter the border crossings and are then sent to customs terminals (ZBD) for processing loads. Kosovo customs allows two options of choice during an import, initially required that the extension be made to the nearest terminal from the entry point. The second option is the nearest terminal with the headquarters where the company is registered.
From January 1st to December 20, 2020, state car import has benefited: 13, 514, 941 euros from their customs, the excise has been worth 8, 917, 800 euros, T The VSH has been 36,792, 673 euros.
