The Serie C squad, Casertana, has criticised Italian authorities and its opponent, Viterbese, after being forced to play only nine football players in Sunday's league match.
Less than 15 people have been affected by Corleone on the Castertanian team before Sunday's match, but she was still forced to play.
The club even claimed that some of the players who were present in the field had symptoms of coronary, even though prior to the match were negative.
In a tough media communiqué, the club stressed: “These are difficult times, full of fear and concern for all members of the Castana FC and their families, as well as”.
“The game team has been destroyed by this dangerous virus. Less than 10 positive cases with COVID-19”.
“Cassertana FC was forced to accept the refusal of US Viterbese 1908 to postpone the match... at a historic time when Italian citizens are suffering when they are forced to stay inside the house, a football team, destroyed by an invisible enemy, is forced to go out in the field at any cost. This is a shameful example for the entire community”, he added.
