This statement came after Swiss authorities suspected that Infantino had used a private plane, and met with former Swiss prosecutor Michael Lauber, who resigned after the secret emerged that he and Infantino had met at the time when FIFA were investigated for corruption.
Now, even FIFA has reacted through a communiqué.
This is the FIFA communiqué, about the case in question.
“FIFA and FIFA President are shocked by the statement issued today by Special Prosecutor Stefan Keller. This statement is uninforming, slanderous nature and demonstrates its extreme prejudice. ”
Now, many months after his investigation, and not having met exactly anything problematic about these meetings with the former Federal Attorney General, as FIFA always predicted would be the case, and never asking for the president FIFA can be declared, since announcing his investigation last July, “Special Prosecutor” issued today an official “declaration for the press, saying FIFA president must now be investigated for something else!
Neither FIFA nor President Infantino have ever been informed of these new false accusations and therefore cannot comment on them, which is probably the purpose of “Special Prosecutor”.
