Thus has Justice Minister Selim Selim Selimi declared in an interview for Kalashho. com until he said they have allocated seven million for the protection of potential indictees at the Special Court and 13 million reserve.

Selimi said he has signed three administrative guidelines for assistance to potential special indictees.

“From these 20 million will be allocated funds for their protection, funds will be allocated for support of their families, which are provided with a different guideline where travel, visits, etc. And the last for those who claim innocent compensation for their innocent statement”, Selimi said.

Minister Selimi said they currently have the good legal infrastructure to have accountability, control and balance in providing this money.

We have a staff going through verification because we're going to work on confidential issues. As soon as this verification is achieved that I think we'll be operational to examine the defense requirements there. We've made the legislation, we've introduced the entire staff to check their background, and we'll start work” Selimi said. According to him, with his knowledge earlier there has been a collective decision-making in Government to share these assistance funds.

He said he thinks it happened because the invitations made then were unclear invitations.

“not known. Even though the law has forced us to defend potential indictees, but we have not known how they were called as witnesses or accused, or as victims”, Selimi said.

For lawyers, he said they have set three parameters. According to him, the parties who choose lawyers to choose their job-hour prices will measure by three parameters.
