Joseph Szayer, a member of the ruling Hungarian party Fidesz, had tried to get away from the massive orgy from a window, as police raided the premises Friday, for violating the rules of corruption.
After being captured by police, he claimed diplomatic immunity, according to the media, and was actually released with only one warning.
In the environments of the illegal sex party were found and drugs were found, while Szaer's bag contained some ecstasy pills, which he said he didn't know how they ended up there.
Belgian media reported that all participants at the party were naked “” and that among them were some European diplomats who have not been identified.
Szaer resigned yesterday, two days after his party tried to protect him by saying he was going through “continent mental”.
“A Belgian newspaper delivered news today about a house party in Brussels where I was participating”, he said in a statement to the Hungarian press.
He added: “The police asked for my identity because I didn't have the card with me and told him I was a member of the European Parliament. They prosecuted me, gave me a verbal warning and brought me home.
I didn't use drugs and I offered to take the test right away, but they didn't ask. The police said the pills were found, not mine. I'm sorry to have broken the collection rules, this is my responsibility and I accept the penalty for this”.
Reports also said that Szaer had tried to get wet from the site by coming out of a window and then slipping into a download tube when he was injured and caught by the police.
Several European diplomats were caught at the gay secret party, which was taking place on the second floor of the building, on a cafe.
All participants were reportedly released with only one warning.
