Driton Kuka asks Majlinda Kelmendi to retire after the Olympic Games

This news for Kp has confirmed to its coach, Driton Kuka, who has declared that Kelmendi has already increased all that can be achieved in this sport and that after the Olympic Games in Tokyo next year, he may be in charge of pensions.

Kuka has shown that it is his proposal and desire that Majlinda end her career and seize a contribution as a Judo coach.

I think Majlinda is ready to race. I don't know when it's gonna start, but I think it's gonna start. Majlinda has already accomplished all that is achieved in sports, and I am confident with two-quarters of the next year that her goal is the Olympic Games, and I'm hoping to hear that after the Tokyo Olympics, she joined the coach's team, to work next to me because the team has already grown up, and I feel like I need to have someone who knows the way to the big medals, to work together so that this number of five contestants probably in the future becomes 10 or 15 racers with elite levels. This is also our goal, perhaps for the Olympic cycle towards Paris 2020/24 and the 2020/28 Olympic Games, means to build a team of trainers so that the number of racers can increase the quality of the team”, Kuka said.

After all those popular medals that have made all the Albanian people proud, Kuka declared that Majlinda already has the obligation to help establish new generations and new champions.

This is my wish, I believe she'll listen to me this time because I have to give to the new generations. It has given Kosovo and the Albanian people all possible medals, pleasures which we have not normally experienced before because we have never had world nor Olympic champion in Kosovo. All of this has been achieved by Majlinda so I believe her potential as a racer may even bear fruit to raise new generations. He's got a loan on him.

In her rich sports career, Majlinda Kelmendi numbers a large number of international trophies. In 2009, Kelmendi took gold at the World Junior Championship in Paris, France. A year later, it reached 5th place at the World Junior Championship in Morocco and finished 9th in the 52kg category at the Judo World Championship in Tokyo, Japan.

However, the first world title in judo, Majlinda and Toy in 2013 at the Judo World Championship, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

She also succeeded in defending the world title in 2014, the year in which Majlinda Kelmendi was declared the best jungle in all categories.

Majlinda Kelmendi's career peak came in 2016 after she took the gold medal at Grand Slam, Paris, making it the third consecutive title. Two months after that success, she triumphed with gold medals at the Judo European Championships in Kazan, Russia.

Until the Olympic Games in Rio 2016, Majlinda Kelmendi was converted into the most successful Kosovo sport after she became the first Kosovo gold athlete to medal in the Olympic Games.
