The European Union's health agency responsible for the approval of the coronary vaccine, said today that it was hit by cyberattack.
Agency known as different EMAH, posted the announcement to her website, without clarifying whether the issue has been resolved or how it can affect the process of approval of vaccines in the bloc.
Development comes at a time when pharmaceutical companies are handing in their EMA testing information for the Codvid-19 vaccine.
The Amsterdam-based group is only a few days or weeks away from the expected approval of the two main vaccines.
Their statement stated: “EMA has become the object of cyberattack. The agency has launched investigation into the issue in co-operation with law authorities and other agencies soon. At the moment we cannot provide further details as a broad investigation has begun in co-operation with law agencies and other competent bodies”.
Unlike Britain, the European drug agency is expected to grant its approvals for vaccines late in the month, initially for Pfizer Group vaccines/ B NTech and then for that American Modern.
Currently, they say they are analyzing the data on the Oxford University-AstraZeneca and Johnson Company vaccines.
During the pandemic, cyberbenetic attacks on medical organizations have increased, from government spy agents to more oriental attempts by individuals to obtain information. So far west, they have been charged with such hacker attacks from North Korea, Iran, Vietnam, China and Russia. /tch
