Salah surprised everyone last week when he spoke of a possible escape from Liverpool and a transfer to Spain to Real Madrid or Barcelona.
Carragher, writing in his column in Daily TelegraphHe believes that Salah's comments were simply to encourage Liverpool's board to act.
“Time for launching the player's transfer story is strange. My view is that it was a message for Liverpool's owners to offer him a lucrative new deal”, Carragher wrote first.
