Air Force pilots and army commanders were among the nearly 500 defendants charged with having tried to oust President Recep Tayip Erdogan.
They allegedly had led this effort from the Akinci air base near Ankara, the BBC writes, translates Periscopi.
Mr. Erdogan said Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen had been behind this attempt-puci that had led to mass arrests.
Gulen has denied any involvement.
More than 2 thousand others were injured in this attempt to oust Erdogan. Erdogan was then on vacation at a resort.
The trial had started in August 2017, and charges included trying to kill President Erdogan and apprehend key institutions.
Twenty-five of those convicted are generals and 10 other civilians.
More than 10 of the military officers and four civilians received 79 life sentences each. /Periscope
