Democratic League of Kosovo deputy leader Lutfi Haziri expects the Special Court to produce justice rather than new heroes. And for this Haziri statement, the deputy leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Shacir Totaj, has responded..
Haziri, a week ago, said final results should be expected.
Now, 21 years after the war, is it late? Yeah. Is Patience Sosa? Most of us do. But we have to believe and we have to wait for the final outcome. We must trust that this court will produce justice than new heroes”, Haziri had said.
While, Totaj in an answer to Express said heroes and justice go together.
“Special Court should be viewed as an opportunity for KLA leaders to eventually be cleared of groundless charges. And I strongly believe it will. In principle, I think heroes and justice usually go together”, Totaj said.
Totaj even said justice would have to confirm the heroism of KLA leaders.
“Kisa told me that what I expect is that justice in this case will not only be needed but also confirm the heroism of KLA leaders”, he added.
We remember that on November 5th the charges against Hashim Thaci and Kadri Wessel have been confirmed, who have been sent to The Hague.
KLA leaders are jointly accused of war crimes, crimes against humanity, illegal arrests, cruel treatment and murder.
According to this indictment, during March 1998 and September 1999 members of the KLA had committed war crimes and crimes against humanity by arresting and detaining civilians illegally, treating them cruelly, torture and disappearance.
Among the many counts are those of illegal murder.
