Democratic Party of Kosovo deputy (PDK) Blerta Deliu-Codra has said elites in Serbia are creating a dangerous mentality in the Serb population.
According to her, this is best noted in the research that has shown that half of Serbs want war with Kosovo.
“What thinking elites produce in Serbia testifies to the recent public opinion research that reveals that half of its citizens want war with Kosovo and believe in the outbreak of new conflicts in the region”, it has gone to a Facebook post.
Deliu has also talked about the international community's failure to respond to the crimes and aggression Serbia has committed in the time of the former Yugoslavia.
This potential risk for the region will continue as long as there is no international community will face Serbia with its crimes during aggression over neighbouring countries in the wars of the former Yugoslavia. But for countries that deny the citizenship of Kosovo, especially those of the European Union, this fact should serve as a kemba to recognise Kosovo” as soon as possible, it has written further.
According to PDK deputy Kosovo remains the Serbian argument that territorial definitions remain open in the region.
Otherwise, their reluctance to recognise the state of Kosovo will continue to fuel Serbian aspirations for territorial wars with neighbouring countries. Kosovo remains the Serbian argument that territorial definitions remain open in the region, and, unfortunately, EU neutrality towards Kosovo's citizenship is contributing to that goal”, Deliu has declared.
